OBJECTIVE:
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic rigging work. Riggers use mechanical load shifting equipment and associated gear to move, place or secure loads, including plant, equipment or members of a structure. Riggers ensure the stability of those members and set up and dismantle hoists.
The aim is to provide participants with the knowledge and understanding to perform work as a basic rigger with confidence. By the end of this course the participants should be able to safely conduct rigging work involving:

This course is skill based and will cover all aspects of the machinery being trained in both written using course notes/dvd’s and case studies combined with practical components. RTO Entry Requirements:
Must be 18 years or above at enrolment.
Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Ability to speak and write English to a basic level and mid level mathematics is required.
PRE REQUISITES:
Hold a valid Statement of Attainment for CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging
Hold a valid Western Australian High Risk Work Licence for class - DG
ASSESSMENT:
A variety of assessments including knowledge, calculation and practical demonstration will be conducted throughout the duration of the course.
CERTIFICATION:
Upon successful completion of the course components, receipt of payment and a valid USI, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued to your nominated email address.
You will also be issued with a Notice of Assessment (NOA). This is your interim licence from WorkSafe WA which will be valid for 60 days. Within the 60 days Tom Price and Sons will lodge your licence application to WorkSafe WA for them to issue your high risk licence. WorkSafe WA will post your high risk licence to your address.
