Licence to Operate a boom type elevating work platform

Tom Price and Sons conduct TLILIC0005 Elevated Work Platform (EWP) courses and training regularly on site or at our premises.
INTRODUCTION:
EWPs are becoming more and more common in every day use. They are a very useful tool and when operated by trained and competent people, can save a lot of time and money.
OBJECTIVE:
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type elevating work platform where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more.
Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.
AIMS:
To provide participants with the knowledge and understanding to operate these machine safely and with confidence. By the end of this course the participants should be able to:
PRE REQUISITES:
Necessary minimum age of 18 years. Ability to speak and write English to a basic level and mid level mathematics is required. For more information contact TPS for details.
ESTIMATED DURATION:
1 Day - Maximum of 4 people. (no experience necessary)
2 Days - Maximum of 8 people.
EXPECTED MODES OF DELIVERY:
This course is delivered face to face by our qualified Trainers/Assessors. Training can be conducted at our Training facility or we can come to your business/work site. This course is skill based and will cover all aspects of the machinery being trained in both written using course notes/dvd’s and case studies combined with practical components. RPL is also available upon request. Please speak to our admin team to see if you qualify.
ASSESSMENT:
Assessments will be conducted during and at the end of the course. A 60-day interim notice of assessment will be issued to persons assessed as being competent, as well as a Statement of Attainment. WorkSafe WA will issue a High Risk Work Licence on receipt of the 60-Day Statement of Attainment and associated application documentation.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR EWP COURSES:
EWP will be required for use for 4 hrs on Day 1 and for a full day on Day 2. The EWP must have a reach of more than
11 metres and be fully compliant.

- Operate the machine efficiently and safely through all areas of design use.
