TLILIC0005 Licence to Operate a boom type elevating work platform ( Boom length 11 meters or more )
Tom Price and Sons conduct TLILIC0005 Licence to Operate a Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform (boom length 11 metres or more) training and assessment regularly on site or at our premises.
EWPs are becoming more and more common in every day use. They are a very useful tool and when operated by trained and competent people.
OBJECTIVE:This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.
The aim is to provide participants with the knowledge and understanding to operate these machine safely and with confidence. By the end of this course the participants should be able to:
- Plan work
- Conduct pre-start and pre-operational checks.
- Recognise danger areas.
- Operate the machine efficiently and safely through all areas of design use.
RTO Entry Requirements:
Must be 18 years or above at enrolment.
Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Be able to read, write and speak the English language at an acceptable employable level.
Whilst not a prerequisite or prohibitive requirement, it is recommended as per industry standard that individuals hold RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights or equivalent certification.
ESTIMATED DURATION:
1 Day - Maximum of 4 people.
2 Days - Maximum of 8 people.
EXPECTED MODES OF DELIVERY:
This course is delivered face to face by our qualified Trainers/Assessors. Training can be conducted at our Training facility or we can come to your business/work site. This course is skill based and will cover all aspects of the machinery being trained in both written using course notes/dvd’s and case studies combined with practical components. RPL via an assessment only pathway is also available upon request. Please contact to our administration team to see if you qualify.
ASSESSMENT:
A variety of assessments including knowledge, calculation and practical demonstration will be conducted throughout the duration of the course.
CERTIFICATION:
Upon successful completion of the course components, receipt of payment and a valid USI, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued to your nominated email address.
You will also be issued with a Notice of Assessment (NOA). This is your interim licence from WorkSafe WA which will be valid for 60 days. Within the 60 days Tom Price and Sons will lodge your licence application to WorkSafe WA for them to issue your high risk licence. WorkSafe WA will post your high risk licence to your address.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR EWP COURSES:
EWP will be required for use for 4 hrs on Day 1 and for a full day on Day 2. The EWP must have a reach of more than
11 metres and be fully compliant.
THIS COURSE IS ACCREDITED WITH WORKSAFE WA. TOM PRICE AND SONS HAVE ACCREDITED ASSESSORS.
Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant, which is issued by WorkSafe WA.
