Licence to Operate a forklift Truck
Tom Price and Sons conduct TLILIC0003 Licence to Operate Forklift Truck courses and training on site or at our premises.
INTRODUCTION:
Current WA legislation stipulates that anyone operating a forklift truck, defined a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other arms that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground; must hold a valid WA High Risk Work Licence.
AIMS:
To provide participants with the knowledge and understanding to operate these machines safely and with confidence. By the end of this course the participants should be able to:
PRE REQUISITE:
Necessary minimum age of 18 years. Ability to speak and write English to a basic level and mid level mathematics is required. For more information contact TPS for details.
DURATION:
1 Day - Maximum of 4 people (experienced personnel)
2 Days - Maximum of 6 people (no experience required) *Not currently being offered at the present time*
EXPECTED MODES OF DELIVERY:
This course is delivered face to face by our qualified Trainers/Assessors. Training can be conducted at our Training facility or we can come to your premises or onsite. This course is skill based and will cover all aspects of the machinery being trained in both written using course notes/dvd’s and case studies combined with practical components. RPL is also available upon request. Please speak to our admin team to see if you qualify.
ASSESSMENT:
Assessments will be conducted during and at the end of the course. A 60-day interim notice of assessment will be issued to persons assessed as being competent, as well as a Statement of Attainment. WorkSafe WA will issue a High Risk Work Licence on receipt of the 60-Day Interim notice, Statement of Attainment and associated application documentation.

Forklift will be required for use for 4hrs during the 1 day course.
*If you have the minimum numbers to run a 2 day course of non-experienced personnel, please enquire with our office for availability.
THIS COURSE IS ACCREDITED WITH WORKSAFE WA. TOM PRICE AND SONS ARE ACCREDITED ASSESSORS.
Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant, which is issued by WorkSafe WA.

- Recognise danger areas.
- Operate the Forklift Truck efficiently and safely through all areas of design use.

- Engineering principals of Forklifts
- Pre-start checks

- Stacking and De-stacking
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Park up procedures
- Driving on inclines.
